IFB 24-0110a ACP Treatment Truck Retrofit

Background
The California Department of Food and Agriculture (CDFA) is seeking a contractor to provide retrofit services for pesticide spraying on trucks. This initiative is crucial for combating the Asian citrus psyllid (ACP), which spreads Huanglongbing (HLB), a devastating disease affecting citrus crops. The CDFA aims to protect California's citrus industry, which produced over $2.2 billion in 2023, by ensuring effective ACP control and HLB eradication activities continue without interruption.

Work Details
The contractor will retrofit up to six Chevrolet Silverado 2500 HD trucks with specific equipment for pesticide spraying. The retrofit requirements include:

1. A single metal spray rig frame that fits within the truck bed dimensions of 82.62 inches x 62.00 inches.
2. Installation of two tanks: one 150-gallon and one 50-gallon, both made of polycarbonate or fiberglass, operated by an electric engine/pump.
3. A locking protective cover for the spray rig components.
4. Hardwired electrical wiring for the spray pump system.
5. Two pumps per tank with jet agitators.
6. Two electric hose reels each capable of holding a 300-foot hose.
7. A total of two PS25 spray guns per tank with low flow meters and isolation valves.
8. Additional components such as spray gun nozzles, a drive system, and a locking toolbox for pesticide containers.

Period of Performance
The contract will commence on January 20, 2025, or upon final approval, whichever is later, and will run through June 30, 2025.

Place of Performance
The retrofitting services will be performed at the contractor's facility where the trucks will be delivered by CDFA.
