Engineering Services For Clarts Roof Replacement, Solar Panel Installation & Rehabilitation Project (TOS S-035)

Background
The City of Los Angeles, through its LA Sanitation and Environment (LASAN) department, is seeking qualified consultant engineering firms to provide engineering and design services for the Central Los Angeles Recycling and Transfer Station (CLARTS) roof replacement and solar panel installation project.

The construction commenced in January 2024 and is projected to conclude by March 2025. The goal of this contract is to ensure that the project adheres to its schedule and budget while maintaining high standards of quality during construction.

Work Details
The consultant will provide a range of engineering and design support services, including but not limited to:
- Review and response to requests for information (RFI)
- Review and approval of submittals
- Review and processing of change orders (CO)
- Modification and addition to original plans
- Acquisition of necessary permits
- Cost estimation
- Project scheduling
- Technical support as required.

Specific tasks include:
1. Project Coordination: Weekly meetings with LASAN to discuss RFIs, submittals, and project progress.
2. Construction Support Services: Conduct site investigations, revise shop drawings, respond to RFIs, support potential change orders related to design and contractor cost estimates, attend onsite meetings as requested.
3. Design Services: Revise plan drawings as needed.
4. Permitting: Assist with permit applications and coordination with the City’s Department of Building and Safety.
5. Additional As Needed Services: Miscellaneous tasks assigned by the LASAN Project Manager, with scope, costs, deliverables, and schedules negotiated between LASAN and the consultant.

Period of Performance
The contract will commence upon issuance of the Notice to Proceed (NTP) by LASAN and will continue until June 30, 2025.

Place of Performance
The services will be performed at the Central Los Angeles Recycling and Transfer Station (CLARTS), located in Los Angeles, California.
