C5612403-D Sharps Medical Waste Removal And Disposal Administration Buildings Statewide

Background
The California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) is issuing this Invitation for Bid (IFB) C5612403-D for the Sharps Medical Waste Removal and Disposal from Administration Buildings statewide. The goal of this contract is to ensure safe and compliant disposal of sharps medical waste generated at various CDCR facilities, thereby supporting the agency's mission to maintain health and safety standards within its operations.

Work Details
The Contractor shall provide all labor, materials, containers with lids, supplies, and equipment necessary for the collection, removal, packaging, loading, transportation, and disposal of all sharps medical waste. This includes:

- Services at all designated Administration Unit Locations as listed in Exhibit A-1.
- Compliance with regulations regarding medical waste disposal by incineration or steam sterilization.
- Inspection of medical waste packaged by CDCR before removal to ensure compliance with regulations.
- Reporting any accidents or injuries that occur on CDCR property during service performance.
- Notification of any legal citations or violations related to services involving CDCR waste.
- Provision of trained personnel equipped with necessary protective gear and disinfectants for handling hazardous waste.

Period of Performance
The anticipated date for commencement of services is December 1, 2024, or upon approval whichever occurs later. The term of the agreement will end on November 30, 2027.

Place of Performance
Services will be performed at various Administration Unit Locations statewide as specified in Exhibit A-1.
