25YS0019 - *SB-MB Only* Fire Extinguisher Maintenance and Incidental Repair Services

Background
The California Department of Veterans Affairs (CalVet) is seeking quotes from certified California Small Businesses (SB) and Micro Businesses (MB) for fire extinguisher maintenance and incidental repair services at the Veterans Home of California, Yountville. The goal of this contract is to ensure the safety and compliance of fire extinguishers through regular testing, inspection, maintenance, and repairs.

Work Details
The contractor shall provide all labor, materials, staff, transportation, licenses, permits, and other necessary expenses to deliver fire extinguisher testing, inspection, recharging, maintenance, incidental repairs, and certification services. Specific tasks include:

1. Annual Testing/Inspection Services for various types of extinguishers including:
- ABC 5 LB (315 units)
- ABC 10 LB (285 units)
- Halon 9 LB (5 units)
- CO2 10 LB (7 units)
- K-Class 10 LB (20 units)

2. Six-year breakdown/tear down services for ABC 5 LB and ABC 10 LB extinguishers.

3. Hydrostatic testing for CO2 and other types as per regulations.

4. Recharging services for extinguishers that have been discharged.

5. Incidental repair services as requested by CalVet Contract Manager within specified timeframes.

Period of Performance
The term of this Agreement shall be from July 1, 2025 or upon approval until June 30, 2028.

Place of Performance
Services will be performed at the Veterans Home of California located at 100 California Drive, Yountville, CA 94599.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must be certified as Small Businesses or Micro Businesses by the Department of General Services. They must possess a valid Type A or Type E license issued by the State Fire Marshal and comply with all applicable federal and state laws regarding hazardous materials handling.
