24-313 - Interior Painting at the Capitola DMV Field Office

Background
The Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) is issuing a Small Business Bid Solicitation (SB Bid) for the project titled 'Interior Painting at the Capitola DMV Field Office.'

The estimated budget for this project is $60,000. The DMV's mission includes providing quality service to the public, and this contract aims to enhance the aesthetics and functionality of the Capitola DMV office through interior painting and related improvements.

Work Details
The contractor will provide all labor, tools, materials, equipment, and travel necessary to complete the following tasks:

1. Paint all interior surfaces of the Capitola DMV field office.
2. Replace cove base throughout the building.
3. Replace all kick plates on interior doors.

Specific tasks include:

a. Remove signage, bulletin boards, and pictures before painting and remount them afterward.

b. Patch, prep, and paint previously painted wall surfaces with semi-gloss latex paint; replace damaged ceiling tiles; paint restroom stalls; and paint janitor rooms.

c. Re-stain or paint all wooden doors and replace damaged mirrors in restrooms.

d. Install new stainless steel kick plates on all interior doors.

e. Use ELLIS PRIMER 1262 on metal surfaces except galvanized aluminum.

f. Remove wallpaper where present and prepare surfaces for painting with skim coat and primer.

Period of Performance
The contractor must complete all work within thirty (30) calendar days from the specified start date provided by the DMV Project Manager.

Place of Performance
The services will be performed at 4200 Capitola Road, Capitola, CA 95010.
