Valley Youth Theatre Architectural Services (GO Bond) - AR00000026

Background
The City of Phoenix is seeking a qualified consultant team to provide architectural services for a new Valley Youth Theater Center. This initiative is part of the General Obligation Bond Program (GO Bond) aimed at establishing a permanent home for the Valley Youth Theatre, a nationally-renowned theatre organization. The project site is located at the southwest corner of N. 2nd Street and E. McKinley Street, with an estimated construction cost of $12 million.

Work Details
The consultant team will be responsible for a comprehensive range of architectural services including programming, site assessment, design, and potential construction administration and observation. Specific tasks include:
- Conducting programming and site analysis
- Developing conceptual and schematic designs
- Preparing construction documents and specifications
- Performing cost estimates
- Overseeing construction administration

The facility will feature an ADA-compliant 300-seat main theatre, a 99-seat studio theatre for smaller productions, office and meeting spaces, restrooms, rehearsal/workshop areas, dance studios, galleries, and storage for sets, costumes, and props. The project will utilize various engineering disciplines including civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, and fire safety protection.

Period of Performance
The contract will be executed upon completion of negotiations with the selected firm following the selection process outlined in the RFQ. The anticipated timeline includes submission deadlines in February 2025 with interviews scheduled shortly thereafter.

Place of Performance
The contract work will be performed at the project site located at the southwest corner of N. 2nd Street and E. McKinley Street in Phoenix, Arizona.
