Carpet/Tile Installation @ Birmingham AFRC

Background
The contract is issued by the State of Alabama, specifically the Division of Procurement, for flooring services at the Birmingham National Guard Armory.

The mission is to maintain and enhance the facility through necessary repairs and installations of carpet and vinyl tiles. The goal of this contract is to ensure that the flooring in designated areas is safe, functional, and aesthetically pleasing.

Work Details
The contractor will perform the following tasks:
1. Remove and replace all carpet floor tiles in Room R107 (13' x 21'). The carpet tiles are 24" x 24" and are glue down.
2. Replace missing carpet floor tiles in Room R106 using tiles removed from Room R106, which are the same color; approximately 100 square feet of tiles are missing.
3. Remove approximately 120 square feet of loose vinyl floor tile from the first-floor hallway, prep the floor as needed, and replace approximately 366 square feet of vinyl floor tile in the same area, including installing transition strips at doorways in the affected area.
4. Dispose of all vinyl and carpet floor tiles off premises.
5. Ensure that carpet and vinyl floor tile colors are as close as possible to existing tiles, with final colors requiring approval from Alexander Shaw prior to installation.

Note: The contractor must be a licensed flooring contractor responsible for all labor, services, and materials required to complete this job.

Period of Performance
The work is scheduled to commence after a mandatory site visit on January 14, 2025, at 9:30 AM.

Place of Performance
The contract will be performed at the Birmingham National Guard Armory located at 255 West Oxmoor Road, Birmingham, Alabama 35209.
