BFO-Pipette Calibration FY25

Background
The Birmingham Field Office of the Alabama Department of Environmental Management is seeking quotes for on-site pipette calibration, repairs, and certification services for Fiscal Year 2025. This initiative is essential for ensuring accurate results that meet quality assurance specifications within their laboratory operations.

Work Details
The contractor will provide on-site calibration, repair, and certification services for a total of 14 pipettes from various manufacturers including Brand Tech and Eppendorf. The specific tasks include:
- Accurate on-site calibrations and repairs.
- Certification of pipettes to ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Cleaning or polishing of all components.
- Conducting gravimetric retests.
- Services are to be performed bi-annually, with site visits scheduled in coordination with the Laboratory Manager, Carla Snow.
- Each service visit will be billed after completion.

The following pipettes are included in the service:
1. Brand Tech - Bottle Top Dispenser Dispensette S
2. Eppendorf - Single Ch-Adjustable 4920-Ref 2, SIC, Adj
3. Eppendorf - Bottle Top Dispenser 4960-Varispenser Bottle Top
4. Eppendorf - Single Ch-Adjustable 4810-Gray Handle, Adj (x2)
5. Eppendorf - Single Ch-Adjustable 2000-Reference (x8)

Qualifications required for the servicing company include:
- EPPENDORF trained repair technician.
- Calibration of Sartorius balances and weights against NIST traceable standards.
- A six-month calibration guarantee (excluding abuse or corrosion).
- Issuance of a computer-generated Calibration Certificate for each pipette.
- Visual inspection for corrosion and functionality of all parts.
- Gravimetric testing involving five draws at three levels to compare with manufacturer specifications.

Period of Performance
The contract will be performed from October 1, 2024, to September 30, 2025.

Place of Performance
Services will be conducted at the Birmingham Field Office Laboratory located at 110 Vulcan Road, Birmingham, AL 35209.
