Project Caerus will develop and field a modern CCDE to include updated field panels and the integration of commercial off-the-shelf video management and entry control hardware, which will meet DOE and DoD nuclear surety requirements. The Caerus development effort will yield a CCGE that provides enterprise wide standardization, state-of-the-art cyber security hardness and a modular architecture that enables sustainable maintenance, adaptable integration of new technology (e.g., data and video analytics and sensor fusion) and scalable deployment to sites of all sizes. Furthermore, Caerus will provide backwards compatibility with existing hardware currently in the field at DOE/NNSA sites to enable seamless cut-over between the legacy security system and the modern Caerus CCDE. In order to provide a capability for the global nuclear enterprise, the Caerus CCDE hardware and software will meet DOE and DoD nuclear surety certification requirements.
