All projects consolidated into this investment fulfill a legal requirement, so return-on-investment is the benefit to the general public through access to these data to inform a wide range of programmatic, regulatory, and legislative activities, including those that support/fund early childhood programs, middle grades transition, high school completion and access to postsecondary education, and postsecondary financing. Also for independent researchers (e.g., nonprofit agencies, research faculty) to generate new scholarship that will drive innovation and improvement at the national, state, and local levels. Internal and external customers benefit from data published, as well as CBT modules containing introductory and common information about NCES data in addition to sets of survey/dataset-specific modules with detailed information needed to understand, access, and appropriately user NCES complex sample and universe micro-datasets.
