DEFENSE RETIREE AND ANNUITANT PAY SYSTEM MODERNIZATION

The Defense Retiree and Annuitant System Modernization (DRAS-M) is the standard, consolidated system for maintaining and paying Army, Navy, Marine Corps and Air Force military retirees, annuitants and former spouses. DRAS-M is being developed to replace DRAS, which maintains and pays entitlements including Military Retired Pay, Survivor Annuity Pay, Former Spouse, Voluntary Separation Incentive (VSI), Victims of Abuse (VOA), Combat Related Special Compensation (CRSC), Concurrent Retirement and Disability Payments (CRDP). DRAS-M establishes new accounts and maintains pay accounts for the life of its customers. This initiative documents the minimum sustainment level of funding for continued development/modification and maintenance of DRAS-M DRAS-M will have many interface partners including the branches of service, Department of Veterans Affairs (DVA), Defense Manpower Data Center (DMDC), DFAS Integrated Garnishment System (IGS), Defense Debt Management System (DDMS), Defense Health Agency (DHA), Defense Joint Military Pay System (DJMS), GODOCS and Treasury Direct Disbursing. DRAS-M is being developed internally at DFAS under Payroll Services and as subsystems are completed it will be transitioned from Mainframe systems to Mid-Tier beginning in FY24 and finalizing in FY29.
