Project Grant

Overview

Grant Description
Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL) - Resilience to intense storm and invasive species-triggered grid disruptions - (RESIST GRID DISRUPTIONS)

The goal of this project is to enhance grid resilience against climate-induced weather disruptions and the threat of damage to trees caused by invasive species such as the Emerald Ash Borer and Spotted Lanternfly.

The project objectives include implementing advanced monitoring and predictive analysis technologies, executing strategic grid hardening initiatives, and fostering community and stakeholder engagement to mitigate the impact of these disruptions.

Expected outcomes of the project include improving service reliability for customers and mitigating the frequency and severity of outages; increasing enhancement in System Average Interruption Duration Index (SAIDI) and System Average Interruption Frequency Index (SAIFI) metrics, which indicate increased grid resilience; and addressing the invasive species threat and enhancing grid stability to foster healthier local ecosystems and community well-being.

The project aims to establish a robust and adaptable grid infrastructure, ensuring stable and reliable power supply for the communities served.
