Cooperative Agreement
Overview
Grant Description
Photovoltaic module supply chain traceability standards and technology for reuse and recycling. The objective of this project is to create a specification, proposed industry standard, and technology for supply chain and asset traceability for PV solar components to enable and track reclamation, reuse and recycling.
The project will develop proposed traceability standards and technology that address the entire supply chain from raw material to cell and module production through end of life (EOL) management, but with a specific focus on reuse and recycling constituent materials. The expected outcome of this project is a proposed industry standard for PV module traceability and a portal to enable real-world implementation.
The results of this project will provide a foundation for achieving DOE’s goals of improving supply chain security and resilience through increasing domestic manufacturing, reducing supply chain vulnerabilities, promoting social and environmental responsibility throughout the supply chain, and supporting EOL reuse and recycling.
