Grant Description
The proposed corridor would connect Dallas and Houston, TX, with a new, dedicated and grade-separated high-speed passenger rail service.
The proposed corridor would provide new service on a new alignment, with station stops in Dallas, Brazos Valley, and Houston.
The corridor sponsor will advance environmental reviews and preliminary engineering, as well as develop a project management plan, project schedule, capital cost estimate, financial plan, and related project development activities.
The outcome of this project will be the completion of the project development stage and readiness for project implementation.

THE PROPOSED CORRIDOR WOULD CONNECT DALLAS AND HOUSTON TEXAS WITH A NEW DEDICATED AND GRADE SEPARATED HIGH SPEED PASSENGER RAIL SERVICE. THE PROPOSED CORRIDOR WOULD PROVIDE NEW SERVICE ON A NEW ALIGNMENT WITH STATION STOPS IN DALLAS BRAZOS VALLEY AND HOUSTON. THE CORRIDOR SPONSOR WILL ADVANCE ENVIRONMENTAL REVIEWS AND PRELIMINARY ENGINEERING AS WELL AS DEVELOP A PROJECT MANAGEMENT PLAN PROJECT SCHEDULE CAPITAL COST ESTIMATE FINANCIAL PLAN AND RELATED PROJECT DEVELOPMENT ACTIVITIES. THE OUTCOME OF THIS PROJECT WILL BE THE COMPLETION OF THE PROJECT DEVELOPMENT STAGE AND READINESS FOR PROJECT IMPLEMENTATION. THE PROPOSED CORRIDOR WILL PRIMARILY SERVE THE HOUSTON AND DALLAS METRO AREAS AS WELL AS THE COMMUNITIES IN AND AROUND BRAVOS VALLEY.
