Grant Description
Project Title: YouthBuild Newburgh
Project Summary: YouthBuild Newburgh will serve 57 out-of-school, underserved youth ages 16-24 from the city of Newburgh, NY. YouthBuild Newburgh provides HSE preparation and college readiness in an academic setting. The classes will be taught in English and Spanish by our two licensed educational staff from SUNY Orange, who will focus their curriculum to include the core subjects needed to pass the TASC-HSE exam: math, reading, writing, science, and social studies. Technology, project-based learning, and service learning will be used to engage the YouthBuild members.
YouthBuild Newburgh also offers construction training, which includes but is not limited to the OSHA 10 and NCCER curriculum.
