Grant Description
Under this award, the Texas Department of Public Safety requests funds to implement a modernized computerized criminal history (CCH) system. The purpose of the project is to procure and implement a statewide criminal history system that complies with federal requirements and Texas statute.
Project activities include developing system requirements, procuring a system that is mostly developed by a vendor with expertise in criminal history repositories, and that can accommodate customizations as required by the state.
Expected outcomes include: an improved system that maximizes modern technology standards and methodologies and can be effectively enhanced over time to meet or exceed the continued need. State and national law enforcement, criminal justice, public safety, and regulatory entities as well as the general public are the intended beneficiaries of the project.
