Grant Description
Description: Chicago Public Schools will use the Clean Bus Grant funding opportunity to purchase 50 zero emission Class 7 school buses and 25 direct current fast chargers.
The overarching goals are to improve air quality, reduce emissions related to diesel fueled buses, increase positive health outcomes, develop training, and professional development for staff.
Activities: Additionally, Chicago Public Schools will provide trainings to staff and conduct community engagement activities to ensure meaningful participation with respect to the design, planning, and performance of the project.
Subrecipient: No subawards are included in this assistance agreement.
Outcomes: The anticipated deliverables are to improve air quality for communities surrounding Chicago Public Schools, decrease greenhouse gas emissions, improve workforce training programs for zero emission vehicles and charging infrastructure, and increase public awareness of the Clean School Bus project as well as facilitate an increased understanding of the environmental and economic effectiveness of the implemented technology.
