USAID Improved Maternal, Newborn, Child Health, Immunization and Nutrition Activity

Background
The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) Mission in Mozambique is seeking concept papers from qualified applicants for the USAID Improved Maternal, Newborn, Child Health, Immunization and Nutrition Activity. The purpose of this activity is to accelerate reductions in maternal, newborn, and child mortality and morbidity in high-burden regions of Mozambique by increasing the capacity of host country institutions, including local organizations, to improve access, quality, and sustained use of evidence-based maternal, newborn, and child health (MNCH) services, including routine immunization and nutrition services.

Grant Details
The proposed Activity will take advantage of opportunities in the health sector to enhance the Mission’s relationship with the government of Mozambique (GRM) as well as engage with the private sector and civil society for improved MNCHI+N. The MNCHI+N Activity builds on Mozambique’s health and development progress to date through diversified capacity and system strengthening to ensure quality, integrated, and comprehensive MNCHI+N throughout the continuum of care. The APS outlines the goal, purpose, expected results, and priorities of the USAID/Mozambique Improved Maternal, Newborn, Child Health, Immunization and Nutrition Program.

Eligibility Requirements
Local partners are strongly encouraged to submit concept papers in response to one or more Results within this APS. Further guidance on how to apply as an individual organization or part of a consortium can be found in Section D.

The specific geographic locations where the grant will be performed include central and northern Mozambique (Nampula, Zambezia, Niassa and/or Tete). Additional/alternative geographies may be explored throughout the life of the Activity.
