Background
The Health Center Program supports domestic public or private, nonprofit community-based and patient-directed organizations that provide primary health care services to the Nation’s medically underserved populations. The purpose of the SAC notice of funding opportunity (NOFO) is to ensure continued access to comprehensive, culturally competent, high-quality primary health care services for communities and populations currently served by the Health Center Program.

Grant Details
The Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) is accepting applications for the fiscal year (FY) 2024 Service Area Competition (SAC) under the Health Center Program. The purpose of this program is to improve the health of the Nation’s underserved communities and populations by assuring continued access to comprehensive, culturally competent, high-quality primary health care services. The funding opportunity title is Service Area Competition (SAC). The estimated total available funding is approximately $179,271,885 annually to fund up to 65 recipients. The period of performance is from May 1, 2024 through April 30, 2027 (up to 3 years).

Eligibility Requirements
Eligible applicants include domestic public or private, nonprofit entities, including Tribes and tribal, faith-based, or community-based organizations. Applicants must propose in the RESPONSE section of the Project Narrative to operate a health center that makes all required primary health care services available and accessible in the service area. New applicants must propose at least one new full-time permanent, fixed building service site.

May 1, 2024 through April 30, 2027 (up to 3 years)
