The Public Diplomacy Section (PDS) of the United States Consulate General in Peshawar is pleased to announce an open competition for assistance award funding. Based on funding availability, this project will bring experts from the United States to train staff of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Directorate of Archaeology and Museums in various aspects of museum management including, but not limited to, handling and cataloging of museum artifacts, object conservation, and record keeping and digitization. Implemented by a U.S.-based organization, this training would allow the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Directorate of Archeology and Museums to display more objects in the provincial museums, ultimately leading to an increase in heritage tourism. The award ceiling is $250,000, and the duration is up to 24 months with a possible one-year extension.

Grant Details
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has approximately 15 museums across the province and 20,000 archaeological sites. The project aims to train approximately 35 Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Directorate staff from 15 museums and major archaeological sites across the province in general museum management, artifact cataloging, object preservation, and records digitization.
The U.S. Government has invested almost $800,000 in cultural heritage preservation initiatives in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa since 2002. The award ceiling is $250,000 with a duration of up to 24 months and a possible one-year extension.

Eligibility Requirements
Eligible organizations include not-for-profit organizations, civil society/non-governmental organizations, think tanks (not-for-profit), and public and private educational institutions (not-for-profit departments). Organizations may subcontract with other entities, but only one non-profit entity can be the prime recipient of the award.
Cost-sharing or matching is welcomed but not required for this funding opportunity.

Period of Performance
The length of performance period is 24 months with a possible one-year extension. The proposed programs should be completed in 24 months or less unless an extension is given.

Grant Value
$250,000 is available for one award under this notice of funding opportunity.

Place of Performance
Trainings would take place in Peshawar or alternatively in Islamabad if security necessitates.
