The U.S. Embassy Baghdad Public Affairs Section (PAS) is pleased to announce that funding is available through its Public Diplomacy Small Grants Program. This is an Annual Program Statement outlining our funding priorities, the strategic themes we focus on, and the procedures for submitting requests for funding. Please carefully follow all instructions below. Purpose of Small Grants: PAS Baghdad invites proposals that strengthen ties between the U.S. and Iraq through programming that highlights shared values and promotes bilateral cooperation. All programs must include an American cultural element, or connection with American expert/s, organization/s, or institution/s in a specific field that will promote increased understanding of U.S. policy and perspectives.

The U.S. Embassy Baghdad Public Affairs Section (PAS) is offering funding through its Public Diplomacy Small Grants Program. The program aims to strengthen ties between the U.S. and Iraq by promoting shared values and bilateral cooperation, with a specific focus on including an American cultural element or connection with American experts, organizations, or institutions.

Grant Details
The program seeks proposals that align with strategic themes such as strengthening governance, democracy, and the rule of law; civil society promotion; media professionalism enhancement; disinformation combatting; violent extremism countering; innovation and entrepreneurship promotion; women and youth empowerment; and fostering U.S.-Iraqi cultural ties. However, certain programs are ineligible for funding, such as those related to partisan political activity, charitable or development activities, construction programs, specific religious activities support, fundraising campaigns, lobbying for legislation, institutional development programs duplication, or existing program duplication.

Eligibility Requirements
Eligible applicants include registered not-for-profit organizations, non-profit or governmental educational institutions, and governmental institutions. For-profit or commercial entities are not eligible to apply. Cost sharing is not required, and each organization is allowed to submit only one proposal. Additionally, all organizations must have a unique entity ID issued by SAM.gov to be eligible for an award.

Period of Performance
The length of the performance period ranges from one month to 12 months. Up to 10 awards are anticipated depending on amounts, with award amounts ranging from $5,000.00 to $100,000.00. The total available funding is $300,000.00.

$300,000.00 is available for the grant program with individual awards ranging from $5,000.00 to $100,000.00.

Place of Performance
The grant will be performed in Iraq.
