OJP is committed to advancing work that promotes civil rights and racial equity, increases access to justice, supports crime victims and individuals impacted by the justice system, strengthens community safety and protects the public from crime and evolving threats and builds trust between law enforcement and the community. In FY 2022, OVC will prioritize applications that document how the proposed project will address the needs of underserved victims, thereby improving access to justice. This program supports activities proposed by the field related to expanding accessibility and increasing service options for victims of crime who are underserved or who are part of an underserved community.
Background
The U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ), Office of Justice Programs (OJP), Office for Victims of Crime (OVC) seeks applications to develop or enhance promising practices, models, and programs that offer innovative solutions to build the capacity of service providers to increase the service options and/or expand access points for victims of crime in underrepresented communities. This program furthers the DOJ’s mission to increase equity, accessibility, and inclusion in its response to victims of crime.

Grant Details
The program is authorized under 34 U.S.C. § 20103 (c)(1)(A), which provides that the OVC Director shall make grants for 'victim services, demonstration projects, program evaluation, compliance efforts, and training and technical assistance services to eligible crime victim assistance programs.' The program aims to address underserved victims' needs by expanding accessibility and increasing service options for victims of crime who are underserved or part of an underserved community.
The solicitation encourages innovative approaches that focus on providing culturally relevant and specific services, co-response approaches partnering service providers and public safety personnel, and information delivery and notification services for victims of crime. The period of performance starts on 10/1/22 and lasts for 36 months with an anticipated maximum dollar amount of awards at $750,000 each.

Eligibility Requirements
Eligible applicants include for-profit organizations other than small businesses, individuals, Native American tribal governments (Federally recognized), Native American tribal organizations (other than Federally recognized tribal governments), nonprofits having a 501(c)(3) status with the IRS, other than institutions of higher education, nonprofits that do not have a 501(c)(3) status with the IRS, other than institutions of higher education, private institutions of higher education, public and state-controlled institutions of higher education, and small businesses.
All recipients and subrecipients must forgo any profit or management fee.

Period of Performance
The period of performance starts on 10/1/22 and lasts for 36 months.

Grant Value
The anticipated maximum dollar amount of awards is $750,000 each with an anticipated total amount to be awarded under the solicitation at $2,250,000.
