Invitation to Mission Industry Day - USAID/Eastern and Southern Caribbean

ID: 72053824ID0001 • Type: Forecasted

Description

The U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) is the U.S. government agency that leads international development and humanitarian efforts. USAID works in over 100 countries around the world to save lives, reduce poverty, strengthen democratic governance, and help people progress beyond assistance. In the Eastern and Southern Caribbean region, USAID partners with the people and governments to improve the country's economy, governance, health, and education so that families can live better lives. To achieve development outcomes and to promote robust activity designs, USAID strives to partner with local government and non-government organizations with expertise in a wide range of technical areas.

As part of its Regional Development Cooperation Strategy (2020-2025), USAID is designing an education activity for youth currently not in employment, education, or training (NEET) between the ages of 15 to 24 years old. USAID's goal is to invest in local institutions and organizations to achieve measurable improvements in youth's soft skills development and employment outcomes. Suriname and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines have been identified as beneficiary countries with expansion to the eastern Caribbean subject to the availability of funding. This proposed new activity will focus on measurable training and employment results using a pay-for-results approach (PFR) in which USAID pays for results, in whole or in part, only when they are realized by the fund recipient.

Local service providers, academic institutions, private sector partners, and civil society organizations that provide training for and job opportunities for youth are invited to an interactive hybrid Industry Day event.
