The Administration for Children and Families, Office of Head Start (OHS) will solicit applications from public or private non-profit organizations, including community-based and faith-based organizations, or for-profit organizations that wish to compete for funds to provide Head Start and/or Early Head Start services to eligible children and families. Federal funding totaling approximately $726,103,148 will be made available in roughly eighty-one (81) competitive opportunities in thirty-three (33) states. Background
The Administration for Children and Families (ACF), Office of Head Start (OHS) is soliciting applications from public or private non-profit organizations, including community-based and faith-based organizations, or for-profit organizations to provide Head Start and/or Early Head Start services to eligible children and families.

The federally funded Head Start program aims to deliver high-quality, comprehensive early education programming to low-income children and families, ensuring they start school ready to succeed. This funding opportunity will distribute approximately $733,048,822 across roughly 82 competitive opportunities in 33 states.

Grant Details
The grant will fund services for pregnant women, infants, toddlers, and children from birth to compulsory school age. Applicants may propose innovative models that ensure continuous services and seamless transitions for children and families.

Programs must provide comprehensive child development services that enhance physical, social, emotional, and intellectual development in key domains such as health, social-emotional development, language and literacy, cognition, and general knowledge. The programs should also emphasize family engagement as a critical component of children's healthy development.

Funding is limited by service areas in each state; applicants must apply for the specific service area where they intend to provide services.

Eligibility Requirements
Eligible applicants include local public or private non-profit agencies, community-based organizations, faith-based organizations, or local for-profit agencies that can provide Head Start services in the specified service areas. Applications from individuals or foreign entities are not allowed. Faith-based organizations may apply on the same basis as any other organization without discrimination based on religious character.

Period of Performance
The project period is set for 60 months with five 12-month budget periods. The anticipated project start date is July 1, 2025.
