FY24 Federal-State Partnership for Intercity Passenger Rail Grant Program

Background
The FY24 Federal-State Partnership for Intercity Passenger Rail Grant Program is administered by the Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) under the U.S. Department of Transportation (USDOT). Grant Details
Eligible projects include:

2. Improvements in intercity passenger rail service performance such as reduced trip times, increased frequencies, higher speeds, improved reliability, expanded capacity, and reduced congestion;
3. Expansion or establishment of new intercity passenger rail services;
4. Related project groups that encompass the above types;
5. Planning, environmental studies, and final design for eligible projects.

Eligibility Requirements
Eligible applicants include:
1. A State (including D.C.);
2. A group of States;
3. An Interstate Compact;
4. A public agency or publicly chartered authority established by one or more States;
5. A political subdivision of a State;
6. Amtrak acting independently or under a cooperative agreement with States;
7. A federally recognized Indian Tribe; and
8. Any combination of these entities.

Period of Performance
The period of performance for funded projects will vary based on project scope but applications are due by December 16, 2024.

The total funding available for awards under this NOFO is up to $1,057,596,637 with no predetermined minimum or maximum thresholds for individual awards.

Place of Performance
Projects must be located off the Northeast Corridor.
