The Food for Progress (FFPr) Program provides for the donation of U.S. agricultural commodities to developing countries and emerging democracies committed to introducing and expanding free enterprise in the agricultural sector. The commodities are generally sold on the local market and the proceeds are used to support agricultural development activities.

Grant Details
In FY 2024, the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA)/Foreign Agricultural Service (FAS) has prioritized technical areas for the FFPr Program including Climate Smart Agriculture (CSA), Trade Enabling Environment (TEE), and Strengthening Food Security.

The program has specific funding opportunity numbers for different countries such as Benin, Madagascar, Tunisia, Rwanda, Cambodia, Tanzania, and Sri Lanka. The total available federal funding is $220,000,000 with an anticipated number of awards being 7 in the range of $20M-$35M each.

The projected period of performance start is October 1, 2024, and end is September 30, 2029. USDA/FAS will fund Cooperative Agreements with substantial involvement in project performance.

Eligibility Requirements
Eligible applicants include the government of an emerging agricultural country, intergovernmental organizations, private voluntary organizations, nonprofit agricultural organizations or cooperatives, nongovernmental organizations, colleges or universities, and any other private entity.

All applicants must have an active registration in the U.S. Government System for Award Management before the application submission deadline.

Period of Performance
The projected period of performance start is October 1, 2024, and end is September 30, 2029.
