Note: The U.S. Embassy expects to receive funding for the CPIF-DEILEP before September 30, 2024. Grant awards are contingent on the receipt of funding. If the program is not approved, no grants will be awarded under this call.

Background
The Political and Economic Section of the U.S. Embassy in Yaoundé, Cameroon announces an open competition for organizations to submit proposals under the 2024 Digital Economy International Leadership Exchange Program.

This program aims to implement the participation of up to 10 Cameroonian government and business leaders in a 10-day in-person exchange focused on the Digital Economy. The U.S. Embassy recognizes the potential of digital technologies to spur economic growth and enhance government services, while also addressing the need for a regulatory framework that supports these technologies.

Grant Details
The selected grantee will be responsible for designing and implementing a 10-day Digital Economy Exchange Program for a maximum of 10 Cameroonian delegates selected by the Embassy.

Responsibilities include organizing all logistics such as travel arrangements and airfares for delegates, conducting needs assessments, and providing French interpretation throughout the program. Participants will engage with U.S. regulatory agencies, tech firms, and academics to discuss innovative technologies and their regulation in the digital space.

Eligibility Requirements
Eligible applicants include registered non-profit organizations, international NGOs based in the U.S., public and private educational institutions in the U.S., and public international organizations.

Priority is given to applicants with proven experience in organizing exchange programs for the State Department. For-profit entities are not eligible.

Period of Performance
The performance period is anticipated to be one year, with programs expected to be completed within three months or less from their start date.

Grant Value
The total amount available for this grant is $100,000, with individual awards ranging from $80,000 to $100,000.

Place of Performance
The program will take place in various locations across the United States including Washington DC and potentially other cities like Silicon Valley or Austin, TX.
