the application process consists of two stages: first, a concept paper due by september 30, 2024, followed by an invitation for full proposals for those with highly rated concept papers by november 10, 2024.
full applications must be submitted by january 23, 2025. nist anticipates funding up to $70 million over five years for this initiative, with a requirement that non-federal sources provide at least 50% of the total funding.
eligible applicants include accredited higher education institutions, non-profit organizations, and for-profit entities based in the u.s., while individuals and foreign entities are not eligible.
an informational webinar is scheduled for july 25, 2024, to assist potential applicants in preparing their submissions.
