Sep 2020: The University of Pittsburgh, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, is awarded a $10,451,439 cost-reimbursement agreement to develop revolutionary new treatment approaches for spinal cord injuries that integrate injury stabilization, regenerative therapy and functional restoration.  This five-year contract includes no options.  Work will be performed at the contractor’s facilities in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania (37%); Goose Creek, South Carolina (35%); and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (28%).  The period of performance of this award is from Sept. 30, 2020, through Sept. 29, 2025.  Fiscal 2020 research, development, test and evaluation (Navy) funds in the amount of $1,380,172 will be obligated at the time of award.  This agreement was competitively procured via a Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency broad agency announcement solicitation published on the beta.SAM.gov website.  Twelve proposals were received and three were selected for award.  The Naval Information Warfare Center, Pacific, San Diego, California, is the contracting activity (N66001-20-C-4050).
