SAAB Inc., Syracuse, New York, is awarded a $13,232,215 cost-plus-fixed-fee contract for the Threat and Situational Understanding with Networked-Online Machine Intelligence. This contract provides for advancing the state of the art of both automatic target recognition and autonomous sensor resource management research and development with broad military utility, and prototype counter-unmanned aircraft system concepts for surface vehicle protection and airport security. Work will be performed in Syracuse, New York (63%); and West Lafayette, Indiana (37%). Work is expected to be completed by Dec. 29, 2026. The maximum dollar value, including a 72-month base period with two 12-month option periods that may run concurrently with the base, is $13,232,215. Fiscal 2022 research, development, test and evaluation (Navy) funds in the amount of $11,698,963 are obligated at time of award and will expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This contract was competitively procured under N00014-22-S-B001, the long range broad agency announcement (BAA) for Navy and Marine Corps science and technology. Since proposals will be received throughout the year under the long range BAA, the number of proposals received in response to the solicitation is unknown.
