Background
The VA Saint Louis Health Care System, specifically the John Cochran Division, is seeking a Construction Contractor to undertake repairs on Air Handler AC-1 and its associated ductwork and variable air volume boxes located on the second floor of the main hospital.

The goal of this project is to enhance the HVAC system's efficiency and reliability, which is crucial for maintaining a safe and comfortable environment for patients and staff. The project has been designed with detailed drawings and specifications provided by an Architectural-Engineering firm.

Work Details
The scope of work includes:
- Replacing the steam humidifier and its associated piping connected to AC-1
- Repairing duct leakage
- Replacing approximately 68 variable air volume boxes

Additional tasks encompass general construction, alterations, mechanical and electrical work, utility systems modifications, necessary demolition, removal of existing structures, and installation of associated appurtenances. All work must comply with applicable VA Technical Information Library (TIL) standards as well as local and national codes. Contractors are required to provide all necessary supervision, tools, labor, materials, equipment, transportation, and testing. Site investigations must be conducted by the contractor to understand site conditions fully. Compliance with VA COVID-19 requirements is mandatory.

Period of Performance
The contract will be performed over a period of 550 days for the base bid (CLIN 0001), with alternatives providing shorter performance periods of 500 days (CLIN 0002) and 450 days (CLIN 0003).

Place of Performance
The construction projects will take place at the John Cochran VA Medical Center located at 915 N Grand Blvd, St. Louis, MO 63106.
