Description

This is a Sources Sought Notice (SSN) for Death Valley National Park/DEVA 318717, Rehabilitate Water & Wastewater Systems at Furnace Creek & Cow Creek Areas. This SSN for the purpose of conducting market research. Proposals are NOT being requested, nor accepted at this time. Responses are being requested from both large and small businesses.
The purpose of the project is to rehabilitate, replace, and upgrade the deteriorating water and wastewater systems in the Furnace Creek and Cow Creek developed areas of Death Valley National Park (DEVA) with newly designed systems. More information is enclosed in the Sources Sought attachment.
Background
The National Park Service (NPS), part of the United States Department of the Interior, is conducting market research through this Sources Sought Notice (SSN) for the project DEVA 318717. The goal is to rehabilitate, replace, and upgrade the deteriorating water and wastewater systems in the Furnace Creek and Cow Creek developed areas of Death Valley National Park (DEVA).

This notice aims to gather information about interested businesses and their qualifications to inform an acquisition strategy for a future competitive solicitation.

Work Details
The project involves extensive rehabilitation, replacement, and upgrading of various components of the water and wastewater systems in Furnace Creek and Cow Creek. Specific tasks include:
- Wastewater system work: replacing service laterals, correcting pressured force mains and gravity sewer mains, repairing or replacing manholes and pump stations, and lagoon improvements to enhance capacity.
- Water system work at Cow Creek: developing a new well, reconstructing the reverse osmosis building, upgrading control systems and air quality monitoring equipment, installing a generator and security fence, and rehabilitating non-potable trunk and lateral lines in the housing area.
- Water system work at Furnace Creek: rehabilitating reservoir access hatch and internal stairs, constructing a chlorination building, replacing well pumps, and addressing deficiencies with distribution piping and appurtenances.

The site requires protective measures to ensure minimal disturbance to the surrounding area during construction.

Period of Performance
The anticipated period of performance for this contract is 24-30 months, which includes potential weather-related shutdowns as well as seasonal interruptions mandated during the construction season.

Place of Performance
The construction projects will be performed at Death Valley National Park in California.
