Keswick PP Asbestos Abatement and Floor Install   2

Background
The Bureau of Reclamation, part of the Interior Region 10 Mid-Pacific Region, is issuing this solicitation for the Keswick Powerplant located in Redding, CA. The mission of the Bureau is to manage water resources in the western United States. This contract aims to address asbestos abatement and floor installation at the powerplant, ensuring a safe working environment and compliance with health regulations.

Work Details
The contractor will perform asbestos abatement and floor installation in four specific areas within the Keswick Powerplant: Rooms 506, 508, 509, and the Security Room. The work includes:

1. **Phase 1**: Removal of existing flooring materials that contain asbestos, including vinyl tile and mastic adhesive from Rooms 506, 508, and 509, as well as carpeting and baseboards from the Security Room.

2. **Phase 2**: Installation of new flooring materials after asbestos removal. This includes installing vinyl composition tile (VCT) in Rooms 506, 508, and 509 and carpet tiles in the Security Room. Approximately 600 feet of new vinyl baseboard will also be installed.

3. The contractor must ensure containment to prevent contamination during removal activities, protect HVAC systems and fire alarm devices from dust and debris, and employ proper techniques for asbestos material removal under negative air pressure conditions.

Period of Performance
The contractor shall begin performance within 7 calendar days after receiving the notice to proceed and complete all work within 90 calendar days.

Place of Performance
The construction projects will be performed at the Keswick Powerplant located in Redding, California.
