Background
The project is initiated by the Michael E. DeBakey Veterans Affairs Medical Center (MEDVAMC) located in Houston, TX. The goal of the contract is to install a sally port and renovate the existing space of the Mental Health Department in Building 100, 6th Floor. This opportunity is exclusively available to Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Businesses (SDVOSB).

Work Details
The scope of work includes the installation of a single locked sally port for secure entry into the inpatient area on the sixth floor, ensuring safety and preventing patient elopement. The contractor is responsible for providing all necessary labor, materials, tools, equipment, expertise, administration, supervision, and transportation to complete the work as per provided specifications and drawings.

Specific tasks include:
1. Demolition and alteration of existing conditions to prepare the site for uninterrupted hospital operations.
2. General construction activities including metal works, finishes, specialties, fire suppression systems, electrical work, and communication installations as required by construction documents.
3. Compliance with local and federal construction and environmental codes.
4. Obtaining necessary permits such as Infection Control Construction Permit and Interim Life Safety Measures Certification prior to mobilization.

The construction projects will be performed at the Michael E. DeBakey Veterans Affairs Medical Center located at 2002 Holcombe Boulevard, Houston, TX 77030.
