Lookingglass FH - Egg Incubation Room   3

Background
The U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service is issuing a solicitation for a design-build contract to construct an additional egg incubation room at the Lookingglass National Fish Hatchery.

The goal of this project is to enhance the hatchery's egg incubation capacity by 10-15%, thereby improving safety, efficiency, and productivity by consolidating all egg incubation equipment into a single room.

Work Details
The contractor will provide comprehensive design and construction services for the new egg incubation room. This includes:

- Site development and earthwork;
- Decommissioning existing hatchery equipment;
- Connecting utilities to existing systems;
- Modifying foundations;
- Installing new exterior walls, floors, and roofs;
- Installing plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.

The contractor must also conduct site investigations, gather data for project scope definition, verify existing conditions, and perform geotechnical investigations as necessary. Additionally, the contractor is responsible for hosting meetings via Microsoft Teams, providing agendas and meeting notes promptly, and securing third-party inspections for various construction elements such as compaction, rebar, concrete, structural integrity, roofing, plumbing, and electrical work.

Period of Performance
The contract performance period is from February 1, 2025 to May 15, 2026.
