Wolf Creek Dam and Center Hill Dam Implementation of Upgrades for Instrumentation Systems

Background
The US Army Corps of Engineers, Nashville District is seeking contractors for the implementation of upgrades for instrumentation systems at Wolf Creek Dam and Center Hill Dam. The goal of the contract is to enhance automated data acquisition systems (ADAS) that will collect, monitor, and transmit data from various instrumentation points on-site. This project aims to improve the operational efficiency and data management capabilities of these critical infrastructure assets.

Work Details
The contractor will provide installation services and integration of automated data acquisition systems (ADAS) for both dams. Key tasks include:
- Removal of existing components.
- Configuration, labeling, and deployment of sensors, telemetry systems, and related components.
- Programming the system to automatically upload collected data to the MIDAS cloud platform.

Specific components to be replaced or installed include:
- CR1000Xe Datalogger replacing CR1000 models.
- CELL205/210 Modems for remote communication.
- AVW200 Vibrating Wire Interfaces replacing AVW206 units.
- RF407 Radios replacing internal radios in AVW206 units.
- Antennae and cables as needed with surge suppressors.
- AM16/32B Multiplexers replacing outdated models.
- Voltage Regulators for solar power inputs.
- Enclosures for equipment with necessary seals.
- BaroVUE10 Barometers for improved atmospheric pressure monitoring.
- Lithium batteries to replace old units.
- Miscellaneous parts including cables, mounting hardware, fasteners, adaptors, cabinet locks, etc.
Additionally, approximately 500 feet of conduit on the upstream bank will be replaced to protect sensor cables.

Period of Performance
The installation at Wolf Creek Dam is expected to be completed within 8 weeks after the Notice to Proceed (NTP), with a total project completion anticipated within 6 months post NTP.

Place of Performance
Wolf Creek Dam located in Russell County, Kentucky on the Cumberland River and Center Hill Dam located near Smithville, Tennessee impounding the Caney Fork River.
