Background
The solicitation is for the rental of a Spider Excavator with Operator to perform heavy maintenance on the Fordyce Jeep Trail in Tahoe National Forest. The work involves reducing erosion potential on the trail by installing drainages, digging out, moving, and burying boulders.

Work Details
The heavy trail maintenance work will be conducted on the western end of the Fordyce Jeep Trail, a remote granite boulder strewn rock crawler trail. The contractor is required to provide a four-wheel drive Spider Excavator with bucket and operator to perform the specified tasks. The work includes installing drainages, moving and burying boulders to reduce erosion potential on the trail.
The Forest Service representative will be on site to monitor the work. The contractor must also supply an operator skilled in using the excavator and performing the required tasks.

The period of performance for this contract is from July 2, 2024, to November 1, 2024.

Place of Performance
The project is located on the Fordyce Jeep Trail in Tahoe National Forest. Access to equipment on the trail may require spike camping due to the remote nature of the work.
