Vail-Tortolita Double-Circuit 230-kV Transmission Line Rebuild Synopsis   3

Background
The U.S. Department of Energy, Western Area Power Administration (WAPA), is issuing a pre-solicitation notice for the Vail-Tortolita Double-Circuit 230-kV Transmission Line Rebuild under Request for Proposal (RFP) 89503124RWA000063. The work is in Arizona on the transmission lines between Saguaro, Tortolita, Rattlesnake, Tucson, DeMoss-Petrie, Del Bac, Nogales, and Vail Substations. This solicitation will be issued for full and open competition.

Work Details
The principal components of work include construction of 59-miles of 230-kV double-circuit transmission line; construction of 5-miles of 230-kV single-circuit transmission line; removing 58-miles of single-circuit 115-kV transmission line; fiber optic installation including optical overhead ground wire (OPGW), fiber splicing and all associated fiber equipment.

Period of Performance
The period of performance will be for approximately 25-30 months.

Place of Performance
The work is in Arizona on the transmission lines between Saguaro, Tortolita, Rattlesnake, Tucson, DeMoss-Petrie, Del Bac, Nogales, and Vail Substations.
