Background
This solicitation is for an indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract for ambulance services for beneficiaries of the Connecticut Healthcare System. The contract shall be for a period of one base year and four option years. The contractor shall provide all labor, materials, vehicles, supervision, training, and safety measures necessary to meet the requirements of the Performance Work Statement (PWS) herein.

Work Details
The contractor is required to furnish Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Life Support (ALS) Ambulance Services to beneficiaries of the Connecticut VA Medical Center. Services include patient transport twenty-four hours per day, seven days per week, including all holidays. The contractor shall provide twenty-four-hour ambulance service (ALS and BLS) to VA beneficiaries receiving care at various facilities. The estimated volume includes 260 BLS and 25 ALS trips per month plus additional mileage.

The contract also includes provisions for prescheduled trips, unscheduled pickups, response times, quality control plan, insurance requirements, disposal of hazardous waste, sales of companies or name changes, HIPAA regulations, and various other definitions and acronyms related to ambulance services.

Period of Performance
The contract period includes a base year with the option for four additional one-year option periods. The performance work statement highlights that pricing is established on a per trip basis with an additional per mile charge for every mile over 25 miles.

Place of Performance
The geographic locations where the contract will be performed include various facilities within the VA Connecticut Healthcare System.
