Description:

Tree trimming services for Base Honolulu

Scope:

Trim all coconut trees on Base Honolulu Sand Island twice a year. Overall, the goals are to ensure the grounds are safe from falling coconuts and debris, and esthetically pleasing.

The first trimming will be around Christmas, and the second trimming will be at the beginning of summer.

The exact dates will be agreed upon between Head of Facilities (Chuck Ahnee) and the vendor before the service occurs.

-Current number of trees: 101 palm trees (77 Coconut Palm, 20 Date Palm, 4 Royal Palm)

Vendor shall properly dispose of debris off base

Background
The US Coast Guard is seeking quotes for tree trimming services at Base Honolulu. The goal of the contract is to ensure the safety and aesthetic quality of the grounds by managing falling coconuts and debris.

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for trimming all coconut trees on Base Honolulu Sand Island twice a year. The first trimming is scheduled around Christmas, and the second at the beginning of summer. The exact dates will be coordinated with Head of Facilities, Chuck Ahnee.

There are currently 101 palm trees on the base, which include 77 Coconut Palm, 20 Date Palm, and 4 Royal Palm trees. The vendor is also required to properly dispose of all debris off base.

Period of Performance
The base period of performance is from 10-01-2023 to 09-30-2024 with an option for four additional years.
