Description

The Guinea SPCPS Country Coordinator (Coordinator) acts as the U.S. Embassy Conakry's focal point and expert on all SPCPS-related matters. The Coordinator is responsible for building synergies and coordination between SPCPS-relevant staff and implementing agencies as well as Regional Coordination staff based in other participating Coastal West African countries (Benin, C te d'Ivoire, Ghana, and Togo). The Coordinator supports, assists, and coordinates the broad management of a multi-faceted SPCPS-funded initiative program for Guinea. The Coordinator is responsible for contributing to reporting and analysis on SPCPS relevant topics including through cultivating relationships and contacts as required, leading the drafting of SPCPS annual reports, responding to SPCPS taskings for Guinea, attending to administrative tasks associated with supporting SPCPS implementers, and ensuring appropriate representation of relevant sections at the embassy in SPCPS working groups and clearance processes.
Under the direction of the Deputy Chief of Mission, the Guinea Country Coordinator provides leadership, convening, and coordination for the interagency to advance the implementation of the 10-year Plan for the SPCPS in Guinea, consistent with the goals and resources of the SPCPS.
As such, the Guinea Country Coordinator acts as the U.S. Embassy's focal point in all GFA/SPCPS related matters for Guinea. The position coordinates the broad program management for the multi-faceted GFA-funded program for Guinea; coordinates the development, implementation, monitoring and reporting of GFA/SPCPS in Guinea. The Country Coordinator serves as the key facilitator of the USG inter-agency team implementing GFA/SPCPS activities in Guinea through a holistic approach to help partners address the political, social, and economic drivers of fragility, expand effective and accountable governance, and bolster local conflict resolution mechanisms in Guinea.
SPCPS implementation in Guinea provides the opportunity to build regional capacity to respond more effectively to shocks and emerging challenges, and to leverage the transnational social, economic, and political nexuses that contribute to resilience and peace. The GFA Guinea Country Coordinator will also play a role in the design and management of new Guinea-based activities under SPCPS.
