Tree Trimming at Los Prietos Ranger Station, Santa Barbara   2

Background
The contract is issued by the USDA Forest Service Pacific Southwest Region for tree trimming services at the Los Prietos Ranger Station in the Los Padres National Forest. The goal of this contract is to address safety concerns related to numerous dead, damaged, or dying trees in close proximity to employee housing and heavily trafficked areas, thereby preventing potential property damage and ensuring the safety of residents and visitors.

Work Details
The contractor is required to remove and/or substantially trim 24 hazard trees to eliminate dead/hazardous limbs overhanging structures or roads. Specific tasks include:

1) Trim trees around low-voltage power lines in the greenbelt area;
2) Trim a tree near trailer #2 overhanging low-voltage power lines;
3) Trim or fell a tree between trailer #5 and the road;
4) Trim two trees between trailers #6 & 7;
5) Trim dead limbs from a tree overhanging trailer #7;
6) Fell a hazard tree northwest of trailer #7;
7) Cut back branches threatening septic tanks near trailer #9;
8) Fell a tree at the southeast corner of trailer #12;
9) Trim limbs on both sides of trailer #13;
10) Trim limbs overhanging shed on trailer #14;
11) Trim limbs at the south side of trailer #15;
12) Trim/shape limbs on north side and trim overhanging limbs on south side of trailer #16;
13) Trim limbs on east side, remove weight from tree southwest side, and fell a tree next to front entrance of trailer #17.

Rounds and limbs may be stacked on site, while chipped materials can be left in designated areas. All work areas must be cleaned daily of debris.

Period of Performance
The period of performance for this contract is from November 8, 2024, to November 22, 2024.

Place of Performance
The work will be performed at Los Prietos Trailer Park located at 3505 Paradise Rd, Santa Barbara, CA 93105.
