SOURCES SOUGHT: THIS IS NOT A NOTICE OF REQUEST FOR QUOTATION. THIS IS FOR INFORMATION AND PLANNING PURPOSES ONLY! This notice does not constitute a commitment by the Government. All information submitted in response to this announcement is voluntary and the Government will not pay for information requested nor will it compensate any respondent for any cost incurred in developing information provided to the Government.

The 1st Expeditionary Theater Support Group is currently performing market research for a requirement for UAS transponders for Task Force 99 (TF99). The customer claims that there is only 1 vendor capable of meeting their requirement. Currently, none of TF99's UAS assets have transponders capable of meeting their operational requirements. Salient Characteristics document is attached to this notice. Providing techincal capabilities without cost/price data will greatly impove TF99's understanding of market capabilities. THIS DOES NOT CONSTITUTE A REQUEST FOR QUOTATION.

Reponses to this Sources Sought request should reference "TF99 Military IFF Transponder - UAS" and shall include the following information in this format:

1. Company name, address, point of contact name, phone number, fax number and email address.

2. Unique Entity ID, Contractor and Government Entity (CAGE) Code. GSA contract number, if applicable.

3. Size of business Large Business, Small Business, Small Disadvantaged, 8(a), Hub-zone, Woman-owned and/or Service-Disabled Veteran-owned. A copy of SAM.GOV active registration. Must reflect Commercial and Government Entity, and Reps/Certs.

4. Capability statement displaying the contractor's ability to provide the products or services, to include past performance information. If past performance information is provided, please include only relevant past performance on the same/similar work within the last 5 years. Please also include in past performance information the contract numbers, dollar value, and period of performance for each contract referenced in the response to this Sources Sought.

5. Any questions or additional information to clarify requirement. NOTE: All contractors doing business with the Federal Government must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) database. The website for registration iswww.sam.gov.

All responses to this notice are to be submitted by 04:30 PM Eastern Standard Time, on 12 Sep 2024. Responses will be accepted via electronic means only to oisin.doyle.1@us.af.mil.

Work Details
The requirement is for TF99 Military IFF Transponder - UAS with the following salient characteristics:

- Weight: Less than 50 grams
- Power Draw: 1.5 Watts or less
- Transmit Power: 250 Watts

- **Essential Characteristics:**
- Must be AIMS certified.
- Compatibility with Mode 3/A, C, S, and ADS-B Out.
- Designed for Group 1 and Group 2 UAS platforms prioritizing size, weight, and power (SWaP).
- Capability to integrate into autopilot software.

- **Functions to be Performed:**
- The transponder will be integrated into Group 1 and Group 2 UAS platforms utilizing open-source autopilot software.
- It must have the capability to be turned on and off for various missions.
- It will serve as the primary method for traffic deconfliction in the airspace where the UAS platforms operate.
