The Federal Protective Service Acquisitions Division intends to issue a sole source extension of up to twelve (12) months to the current ordering period of an existing indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity type contract, 70RFP419DE5000004 with Triple Canopy, Inc (13530 Dulles Technology Dr, STe 500., Herndon, Virginia 20171-4642). This extension begins 01/01/2025 and will provide continued armed Protective Security Officer (PSO) services at various locations throughout the state of Michigan and to allow placement of a new contract to continue critical PSO services at these locations. The government intends to solicit and negotiate on a sole source basis with Triple Canopy Inc., under the the authority of 41 U.S.C 3304(a)(1) as implemented by FAR 6.302-1, only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisy agency requirements. This is not a request for competitive proposals. A Request for Proposal (RFP) will not be made available.

Background
The Federal Protective Service (FPS) Acquisitions Division is issuing a sole source extension of up to twelve months to the current ordering period of an existing indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity contract with Triple Canopy, Inc. This extension is necessary to continue providing armed Protective Security Officer (PSO) services at various locations throughout Michigan while a follow-on contract is being established.

The FPS is responsible for protecting federal facilities and personnel, and this extension aims to ensure uninterrupted security services amidst ongoing threats.

Work Details
The contractor will provide armed Protective Security Officer (PSO) services, which include responding to terrorist attacks, domestic workplace violence, trespassing, disorderly conduct, and emergency medical situations. PSOs are also responsible for detecting firearms, hazardous materials, and suspicious packages at federal facilities.

The incumbent contractor, Triple Canopy, Inc., has a fully qualified staff familiar with the requirements and facility locations, making them uniquely positioned to fulfill these critical roles without interruption. A transition period of up to 120 days from the date of award will allow the follow-on contractor to obtain necessary equipment, licenses, training, and certifications for their employees.

Period of Performance
The extension begins on January 1, 2025, with an anticipated performance start date for the follow-on task order around August 1, 2025.

Various locations throughout the state of Michigan.
