Background
The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) has a requirement to obtain a supply of specific pathogen free (SPF) embryonating chicken eggs (premium plus grade), and research grade eggs to be used to test vaccines, master seeds, diagnose pathogens, and produce reagents (challenge virus). The estimated magnitude for this project is between $10,000.00 and $5,500,000.00. This is not a request for proposals, but instead market research to determine if there are any small businesses capable of providing this product prior to issuing a solicitation.
