Southern Research Station HQ - Removal of Trees and Site Clean   2

Background
The Southern Research Station, part of the USDA Forest Service, is located in Asheville, North Carolina. The mission of the Southern Research Station is to provide scientific knowledge and technology to improve the health and management of forests and related resources. This contract aims to address storm damage caused by Hurricane Helene by removing downed trees and debris from the station's headquarters.

Work Details
The contractor is required to perform the following tasks:

- Remove downed and leaning trees by felling as needed, limbing, and bucking the trees.
- Additionally, remove understory growth of small trees and shrubs as indicated on attached site maps.
- All material, including brush and logs of any diameter, must be disposed of offsite.
- Stumps must be removed or ground to ground level to allow for grass establishment.
- Fill stump holes and other depressions with suitable soil for grass establishment, followed by seeding, fertilizing, and mulching.
- Clear work areas of limbs, twigs, surface rocks, and organic debris before applying seed, fertilizer, and mulch.

The contractor must provide a Site-Specific Safety Plan detailing actions for protecting employees and site users during work execution. No government-furnished materials will be provided for this project.

Period of Performance
The contractor shall complete all work within 30 calendar days from the start date.
