Sources Sought: US Air Force Academy Officer Dress & Mess Dress Uniforms   2

This notice is not a solicitation. This announcement serves as a sources sought notice for the upcoming competitive acquisition for the United States Air Force Academy Officer Dress and Mess Dress Uniform requirement.

The United States Air Force Academy (USAFA) issues clothing and uniform items to cadets throughout their tenure at USAFA. The Officer Dress and Mess Dress Uniforms are part of the Cadet's clothing issue. These uniforms must be made in accordance with Air Force Specifications and USAFA Letters of Exception. One one draft AF specification, and one USAFA letter of exception is attached for reference purposes only. The full set of specs will be posted along with the official solicitation. Vendors seeking certification should contact the Air Force Uniform Office as soon as possible for the following list of Air Force specifications applicable to the upcoming acquisition:

Potential offerors must be certified through the Human Systems Center Clothing Division located at Wright Patterson Air Force Base, OH 45533 prior to offer submission for the upcoming solicitation. The contractor can pursue certification by submitting an acceptable sample to Wright-Patterson. If the sample conforms to Air Force specifications and passes inspection, the Air Force Uniform Office will certify the contractor to produce that uniform item for three years and the contractor is required to re-submit for certification every three years. Each uniform item must be individually certified; the contractor cannot receive a blanket certification for the entire uniform. The Buy American Act and Berry Amendment requirements will apply to this acquisition and the contractor will be responsible for procuring the fabric for each uniform item. The government intends to solicit an indefinite delivery contract for up to 5 years and the estimated quantities per year for each item are:
