REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI) / SOURCES SOUGHT:

ITEM DESCRIPTION- Naval Surface Warfare Center, Crane Division has a requirement to procure electronic access control and intrusion detection systems components. The primary items include circuit cards, card readers, enclosures, power supplies, software, licenses, and support that establish the backbone of an enterprise electronic security system.

SOLE SOURCE PROCUREMENT- The Government intends to solicit and negotiate with one source, AMAG Technology, Inc., 20701 Manhattan Pl. Torrance, CA, 90501-1829 under the authority of FAR 6.302-1. The basis for restricting competition is AMAG Technology Inc. is the only responsible source capable of satisfying the agency's requirements and no other type of supplies will satisfy agency requirements. This is being sole sourced because the lack of compatibility between the existing AMAG Symmetry systems and all other products on the market. To compete this requirement would result in duplicative costs that are not expected to be recovered through competition and would result in unacceptable delays that would not fulfill agency requirements. All responsible sources may submit a capability statement, which shall be considered by the agency. However, a determination by the Government not to compete with this proposed contract based upon responses to this solicitation is solely within the discretion of the Government.

This solicitation is being issued pursuant to the procedures at FAR Part 13. All changes to the requirement that occur prior to the closing date will be posted via FedBizOpps.
