6.2 Smiths Detection Initial Operator's e-Learning Training

The Contractor shall provide the web-link information for the participants to complete the Smiths Detection Initial Operator's e-Learning training course within 15 days after being awarded this contract. The Contractor shall ensure the Initial Operator's e-Learning course provides students with the skills necessary to effectively operate the HI-SCAN HiTraX Dual View and to perform basic preventive maintenance activities. The Contractor's course shall cover the following major topics: Overview and features; Starting up and shutting down; Scanning; Viewing X-ray images; Enhancing X-ray images; Analyzing X-ray images; and Troubleshooting. The Contractor shall provide to the participants, upon successful completion of this training, a certificate that is valid for one(1) year from the date of issuance.

Deliverable:

A. Web-link for e-Learning Operator's training course.

B. One (1) year Operator's Certificate of Completion

6.3 Smiths Detection Two-Day Face-to-Face Instructor-led Training

Smiths Detection shall coordinate with the COR to confirm the date/time for the Face-to-Face Instructor-led training. The Contractor shall ensure the Train-the-Trainer course provides the knowledge and skills needed for a potential instructor of the HI-SCAN HiTraX Single View Operator course to prepare and teach the course. The Contractor's course shall cover the following major topics: An introduction to the HI-SCAN HiTraX Single View Train-the-Trainer course; Industrial training refresher; Using the HI-SCAN HiTraX Single View Instructor Guide; Adding depth to the HI-SCAN HiTraX Single View Operator course content; Administering the end-of-course exam; and Teach backs and Feedback. The Contractor shall provide to the participants, upon successful completion of this training, a certificate that is valid for two (2) years from the date of issuance, for training operators within the VA Police staff only.

Background
The Department of Homeland Security, Hines Information Technology Center (HITC), requires training for individuals operating Smiths Detection X-Ray screening machines. The training aims to ensure safe and effective operation and maintenance of the equipment.

Work Details
The Contractor shall provide initial Operator’s e-Learning training and conduct a three-day Instructor-led “Face-to-Face” Train-the-Trainer course. The e-Learning course covers topics such as starting up and shutting down, scanning, viewing X-ray images, enhancing X-ray images, analyzing X-ray images, and troubleshooting.
The “Face-to-Face” Instructor-led training includes industrial training refresher, using the HI-SCAN HiTraX Single View Instructor Guide, administering the end-of-course exam, and teach backs and feedback.

Period of Performance
The total period of performance of this contract shall be not more than three (3) months after award of the contract. The period of performance is from March 1, 2024, to May 31, 2024.

Place of Performance
The Instructor-led “Face-to-Face” Train the Trainer course will be performed at HITC, 5000 South 5th Avenue, Building 215, Hines, IL 60141.
