Background
The project involves the replacement of a roll-up door at the U.S. Coast Guard NAVSTA Newport, Newport, RI. The Maintenance Augmentation Team (MAT) Newport supports all operational Coast Guard Cutters stationed at Naval Station Newport RI. The building has multiple roll-up doors that facilitate maintenance. The project aims to replace one of the failed doors to match all other existing roll-up doors.
All work completed under this contract is subject to Prevailing Wages, the Davis-Bacon Act, and the Buy American Act.

Work Details
The contractor is required to provide all labor, tools, material, and equipment necessary to remove the existing steel roll-up door, opener, and any other associated equipment. They must also dispose of all old equipment and install a new 14 feet high by 12 feet wide, 24-gauge insulated roll-up door with a 1 horsepower commercial-rated opener, photo eyes, safety bottom edge, and a three-button control station. The door should be white powder-coated to match existing doors and fully weather-stripped.
The contractor is responsible for making all electrical connections and ensuring that the new door matches all salient characteristics or equals the failed roll-up door and fixtures listed above. The installation location is United States Naval Station Building 1406 in Newport, RI.
